From the Desk of Chairman, CCB-2012

It gives me great pleasure to extend a warm note of greetings to all the successful candidates of AIEEE - 2012 and invite all the eligible candidates to participate in the CCB-2012 admission process. I am writing this to highlight the important changes in the admission procedure that have been made in this year’s counseling process as compared with that of the previous year.

About 1.2 million students have appeared for AIEEE this year and our endeavor has been to make the counseling and admission process as candidate friendly as possible so as to reduce the anxiety and inconvenience associated with the admissions. Online counseling was started in the year 2009 and was further modified in the year 2010 and 2011. This year’s counseling also would be online, with certain modifications compared to the 2011 process. It would involve four rounds of seat allotment instead of five rounds of seat allotment as compared to last year, followed by a spot admission round. This modification has been introduced to minimize the gap between the date of completion of counseling process and the date of starting of classes. Also provision for fresh registration has been introduced this year for candidates who did not register before the first round. Candidates can also pay their fees through electronic fee payment system. To facilitate counseling process, Reporting/Help Centres have been set up.

There are different types of participating institutes, viz., NITs, IIITs, Central/State Government Funded Institutions and Self Financed Institutions in which admissions are being done through CCB. The list of participating institutes is given in the CCB website along with links to individual institutes. Candidates are advised to do a due diligence regarding the participating institutes with regard to the courses offered, fee structure and other relevant facts, before filling choices of institutes and courses during counseling.

All candidates are advised to read the brochure carefully and understand the process clearly before undertaking registration and choice filling. An attempt is being made to provide an online web/power point based tutorial in English and Hindi to explain the online process, so as to enable all the eligible candidates to make use of the online process effectively. CCB wishes that candidates make judicious choices thereby ensuring that the counseling process concludes smoothly. Candidates after getting an allotment in any one of the institutes are requested to take timely decision, so that in case they vacate the seat, the same can be offered to other eligible candidates.

CCB would bring out important and relevant information from time to time for smooth implementation of counseling. All such information that is periodically updated would be available on the CCB website www.ccb.nic.in. Candidates should frequently visit this website, as well as the website of the institution in which they are planning to join.

I take this opportunity to wish you the very best in your professional career and future endeavors.
